Sri Lanka / Maldives / Male

  • Arrival at Male Airport & transfer by Speedboat to your Resort

DAY 4
Maldives / Sri Lanka

  • You would be met by your personal Chauffeur Guide at the Airport and transferred to Negombo which is the center of the island’s fishing community. It is largely Roman Catholic by faith, with huge imposing churches down almost every street. The sea & the catamarans are the backdrop to the Negombo scenery.
  • Breakfast & Overnight Stay at the Hotel.

 

DAY 5
Negombo

  • Beach Stay – At Leisure visit the fishing village and the surrounding areas in Negombo.
  • Breakfast & Overnight Stay at the Hotel

 

DAY 6
Negombo / Dambulla / Habarana / Minneriya / Habarana

  • Breakfast proceed to the Rock Cave temple of Dambulla.Some of the frescoes in these Caves are over 2000 years old. (Includes Namal Uyana & Rose Quartz Mountain Range)
  • Afternoon – Excursion to Minneriya Wildlife Park (Jeep Safari)
  • Breakfast & Overnight Stay at the Hotel

 

DAY 7
Habarana / Sigiriya / Habarana

  • Breakfast proceed to Sigiriya – Climb the Sigiriya Rock Fortress, the 5th Century Rock Fortress which is a world heritage site built by King Kashyapa.the spectacular citadel of Sigiriya rises sheer and impregnable out of the denuded plains of the dry zone, sitting atop a huge outcrop of gneiss rock towering 200m the surrounding countryside, It is the most memorable single attraction, a remarkable archeological site made unforgettable by its dramatic settings

DAY 8
Habarana / Polonnaruwa / Habarana

  • Early Breakfast Excursion for Polonnaruwa, visit the 2nd Capital of Sinhalese Kings dating back to the 11th & 12th century, The entire landscape of the region is surrounded by huge man made reservoirs, the most famous of which is the Parakrama Samudra,Numerous monuments are found in the City. The Gal Vihara complex is one of the best among them with the fine sculptures etc.

DAY 9
Habarana / Pinnawela / Kandy

  • Early Breakfast at your Hotel, and proceed to Kandy, end route visit the Orphanage at Pinnawala.The Orphanage was established to feed nurse and house young elephants found abandoned by their mothers. Proceed to Kandy

DAY 10
Kandy

  • AM Visit the City of Kandy, the most famous Landmark of Kandy is the Lake, in the center of the City. The Kandy market is a great bazaar full of sounds and existing trade. Visit the Temple of the sacred tooth relic of Buddha. & the Kandy Museum Late in the evening View the Kandyan Cultural Performance.

DAY 11
Kandy / Nuwara Eliya (Morning Train Ride to Nanu Oya)

  • From Kandy to Nuwara Eliya the road starts to ascend steadily , you will have climbed 1,500m ,You are now in the Tea Country where you will see tea plantations and out of the green in regular intervals the white colored Tea Factories , Waterfalls will enchant your eyes, Occasionally you would see a few Rice Fields and Vegetable Plantations.
  • The Resort town of Nuwara Eliya which is also called Little England is situated 2070m above sea level and lies on a little Lake and is surrounded by mountains covered over & over by tea bushes.
  • You will also get the opportunity to visit a Tea Factory + taste one of the finest teas in the world.

DAY 12
Nuwara Eliya

  • Breakfast – Drive through the little town observing the well maintained buildings of colonial Architecture. Visit the busy market where the tea plantation workers rush in and out with their day’s provisions, Drop in at the Hakgala Botanical Gardens, Or Spend the evening walking in the cool climate.

(OPTIONAL) Horton Plains

  • Excursion to Horton Plains is a National Park and the highest plateau in the island consisting of grassland interspersed with patches of forest, with some unusual high altitude vegetation. The Plains are a beautiful, silent, strange world with some excellent walks.
  • The most stunning place is the World’s End, where the southern Horton Plains suddenly ends, and drops off to nearly 700 Meters, which is an awesome sight indeed. This is a favorite place for trekkers, as there are plenty of soft and hard trails.

DAY 13
Nuwara Eliya / Ella / Buduruwagala / Kataragama / Yala

  • After breakfast leave for Tissamaharama Region Stop at Ella to admire the magnificent view. Then visit Buduruwagala & the sacred city of Kataragama.Optional Lunch at Tissamaharama, or proceed direct to Yala Village
  • Spend the evening at the Hotel (Relax & enjoy the beautiful food & wine on offer)

DAY 14
Yala

  • Very Early start Game drive to Yala (Jeep Safari to Yala National Park)
  • Yala National Park
  • The most popular national park in Sri Lanka. Established in 1938 with a land area of approx 121000 ha. This park is situated in the Hambantota and Monaragala district. It is home for almost all the animals and birds that are found in Sri Lanka.

DAY 15
Yala / Hambantota / Weligama / Galle / Hikkaduwa

  • Breakfast and drive along Sri Lanka’s coast proceed to Hikkaduwa, En route view the Stilt fishermen of Weligama

DAY 16
Hikkaduwa / Unawatuna / Galle / Hikkaduwa

  • Breakfast at the Hotel and proceed to the Galle fortress, which was built by the Dutch.
  • The old part of the City within the Dutch Fort built in the 17th century has been declared a world Heritage site by UNESCO. A walk on the ramparts will give you an excellent view of the ancient harbor which was known as Tarshish in the bible. We will pass the District Court and the original entrance to the Fort en route to the Dutch Reformed Church built in the 17th century, Galle has also become famous in the recent past for the quality of boutique hotels, which have sprung up within the Fort. The New Town to the north of the Fort was badly affected by the tsunami in 2004.Galle is the home of the famous International cricket stadium, which is been re-built.
